Virginia native Natalie Pronk is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who writes piano-driven indie pop music with jazz inspired harmonies. Her lyrics give language to the innermost human emotions, focusing on themes of self-discovery and introspection. Natalie grew up singing and playing piano, and by the age of eleven she picked up the saxophone. When she discovered her enjoyment and skill for songwriting as a teenager, she knew she had to pursue a career in music.
From conducting an award-winning marching band and performing in a Virginia Honor Wind Ensemble to her numerous roles in over 10 musical theater productions, Natalie has a plethora of musical performance experience. In 2024 she received a bronze award from the Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest for her original song “Worsen by the Day” that addresses the environmental impacts of climate change. Natalie plans to continue using her platform to advocate for a variety of justice issues.
Her inspirations range from broadway showtunes and Sara Bareilles, to indie-pop artist Lizzy McAlpine, as well as soul-pop artists, Lake Street Dive and Olivia Dean. She aims to write raw, vulnerable lyrics that tell authentic stories a diverse group of people can relate to and resonate with. Currently, Natalie is pursuing a degree in Contemporary Musicianship and Entrepreneur Development at Shenandoah Conservatory. She is developing her artist brand, building her musical repertoire and gaining performance experience both individually and as an ensemble member. Additionally, she is working on recording and releasing her debut single.
